About Us
Calaveras Timber Trails Association (CTTA) is a private, member-owned camping community, located in the town of Avery in the Sierra Mountains, just 20 miles east of Angels Camp on Sheep Ranch Road (via Highway 4). CTTA has 500 individual campsites on 134 acres, at 3,800-ft. elevation with paved roads throughout the Park. Our community was established in 1972 and all our Members and guests enjoy a secure camping environment. The office and campground are open year-round. Our entrance is gated, and only those with key cards or their registered guests are permitted entry.
There are 17 clean comfort stations in the Park, all with hot water and electric heat; 14 have hot showers. The Park has its own sewer treatment plant. Sanitary dumping stations are located throughout the Park and sanitary dumping service is also available (for a small fee). Water to the sites provided via street hydrants. Solar panels, generators or batteries are the campers’ source(s) of power. Propane is available for a fee, as is battery charging.
Our amenities include an Adult Lodge with TV, Wi-Fi Internet, pool table, library, fireplace, and kitchen facilities. Our Teen Center has a pool table, ping pong table, air hockey table, Playstation 2 and TV. The Black Bart Center caters to young children with TV, VCR, toys, games, and an outdoor playground. Additionally, we have a swimming pool complex with two swimming pools, hot showers, a library, and a Laundromat. The Commissary is used for meetings, potluck dinners, Bingo, and communal events. Outdoor game courts include a basketball/volleyball court, a bocce ball court, a baseball diamond, a camp amphitheater and the “Hani” for outdoor get-togethers, barbecues, and dances. Horseshoe pits and shuffleboard are also part of the outdoor choices available. All sorts of activities are available from social gatherings in the Hani or the Commissary to Deck parties at members’ sites, plus everything in between. Nearby there are several lakes and a reservoir for boating, fishing, and water sports. In the winter, skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling are just up Highway 4.
Fire Protection
Fire protection includes 46 hydrants distributed throughout the Park, a 200-gallon pumper fire truck manned by our own trained volunteers and the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, of which we are a member. Security is assured at the Park’s one entrance, which is regulated by an electronically controlled gate, operable by Members’ gate cards at any time, or by employees during Office hours.
